Toolkit
In order to facilitate the effectiveness of the Bamako Convention, a toolkit of two medias are designed: an online training tool and a Handbook. They are both designed as easy-to-use supports.
A Training tool and a Handbook
As part of the workplan and programme of work in Annex to decision CB.3/2 to Parties to the Bamako Convention at its 3rd meeting, promotion of the convention activities includes outputs on information management and dissemination, training of national focal points and dump watches, and capacity-building activities on enforcement. Two downloadable medias are to be designed and made available for the attention of the focal points and the Dumpwatch Authorities.

Focal Points and Dumpwatch
Guidance for Contact Points shall provide general and contextual information on the purpose and function of the rights and obligations of Parties under the Convention, a step-by-step explanation of the responsibilities of countries as Parties to the Convention.
These supports collect relevant informations for Subsidiary bodies, and help them assume their missions controlling transboundary movements and prohibiting the dumping or incineration of hazardous wastes within Africa and its oceans and inland waters.

The Online Training Module is accessible via a sub-domain link on this Site. The Handbook is available as a downloadable PDF brochure. Both are intended for National Contact Points and Dumpwatches.
